Come with us to visit one of the most popular white villages in Andalusia: Frigiliana, which has been voted the ‘prettiest village in Andalucía’ by the Spanish tourism authority.

Frigiliana is just seven kilometres north of Nerja and three hundred metres above sea level . In this picturesque little village you will enjoy amazing panoramic views to the sea, Nerja and the Axarquía region.

The village is a maze of narrow, steep cobbled, streets with white-washed houses. As we walk around, we will find small shops selling pottery, ceramics and other souvenirs, bars and restaurants, where you can taste the locally produced wine, as well as small squares, which provide shady seating to have a rest.

Although the predominant colour in this village is the white one , you will find all kind of colourful plants decorating balconies, windows, terraces, doors, gates

Frigiliana is also important from an historical point of view. El Fuerte, the hill that climbs above the village, was the scene of the final bloody defeat of the Moors of La Axarquía in their 1569 rebellion.
