Apart from Spanish language courses, Quorum offers Spanish culture courses. Here at our Spanish Language School, we believe that studying Spanish culture – or that of any other language you might be learning – is a fundamental part of learning the language itself.  The Spanish and History Course consists of 20 lessons of Intensive plus 3 lessons of Spanish Culture per week. The aim is to learn more about Spanish History and Culture.

Spain is a country with a long and proud history including settlement by the Ancient Romans and many centuries of domination by the Moors. It is a country of great diversity, with mountain ranges in the North East, beautiful beaches in the South and a luscious green coastline in the north.

Some of the topics discussed during the class are:

  • Al-Andalus and the Islamic reign.
  • The Christian Reconquest and the Discovery of the Americas.
  • Cervantes and Don Quijote.
  • The Golden Age and the Generation of ´98.
  • Franco and the Civil War.
  • The Transition and Democracy.

Spanish & History Course Schedule:

23 lessons a week:
10 lessons of Grammar and Vocabulary.
10 lessons of Conversation and Vocabulary.
3 lessons of Spanish History and Culture.

Group Size:
From four to a maximum of eight students.

Duration:
Every lesson lasts 55 minutes.
1 to 12 weeks throughout the year.

Objectives:
This course emphasizes the political, social, economic, and cultural aspects of the most important events that have shaped this wonderful country.

Starting dates

Beginners only 2026:
January 12th, February 2nd, March 2nd, April 6th, May 4th, June 1st, July 6th, August 3rd, September 7th, October 5th, November 9th and November 30th 2026.

All other levels:
STUDENTS WITH SOME KNOWLEDGE OF SPANISH CAN START ANY MONDAY.

Spanish Bank Holidays – 2026

Holidays in 2026:  April 3rd, May 1st, May 15th, October 12th, November 2nd, December 7th and 8th .
The school will be closed from December 21st 2026 to January 10th 2027 for Christmas time.
No classes will be held on bank holidays and will be deducted from the registration fees.

During Christmas we haven’t got groups, but it is possible to organise individual lessons (minimum 2 hours/day).

Accommodation is available during this period too.

NOTE:

Classes are from Monday to Friday. Group size: 4-10 students.
In case that we only have one student at a particular level. In this instance we reserve the right to provide a reduced number of individual lessons.

REGISTRATION FEES: 40 €

HYBRID CLASSES – All our courses are available for Hybrid Classes.
The courses can be only in person, only online or a combination of both in person and online. The classes can be recorded for them to be rewatched at any moment if you have not been able to attend.
